Tranquility As seen on Channel 4’s "A Place in the Sun"

Following ten years experience of running a restaurant in England I decided in 2002 to open an English restaurant with two gîtes in France. I chose a beautiful 16th century building in the mediæval part of Pontivy as the location. Teaching to raise the finances, enabled me to spend every holiday after the purchase of the property, in Aug 2003, renovating.
Eventually, I took the plunge, and moved to France in Jan 2004. Over the years since, the business has developed from simply serving cream-teas, to becoming a flourishing restaurant, with special evenings, e.g.  Mediæval banquets, musical Events and Private Parties. Recently, two apartments over the tea-house have been newly refurbished and equipped as holiday apartments . I call them Napoleon and Josephine .

Pontivy,  or Napoléonville as it was formerly called, is a really beautiful town, located on the river Blavet  which is part of the Nantes/Brest canal.   

Tranquility

On the first Saturday of every month we host a musical evening.  If you play an instrument and will be here from 8pm-11pm, you are welcome to take part in the jam-session, (all types of music,) or, if you prefer to sit  and be entertained, you are also welcome. Music has become an important feature of the tea house. Impromptu, an acoustic guitarist may accompany your meal, or on occasion, an artist may give demonstrations of painting or drawing.
